Greece: Part One

Our week in Greece was perfect. We started our trip with the lovely people at Swiss airlines, has anybody flown with them? They're amazing! They feed you Swiss chocolate, so legit. After a layover in Geneva, we arrived in Athens really late at night, and after a semi scary walk to our hostel, we finally had some time to rest. We spent the next day visiting the Parthenon and the Acropolis Museum (holla to EU students and free entrances!) We had our first encounter with real Greek gyros that day. Obsessed. We made it a daily tradition to eat at least one every day, don't judge us. We may or may not have had several gyros in just one day.

We spent the day hauling our baggage around that day, so we had to take turns taking the hike up to the Acropolis. Meanwhile, as we took our turns, we chilled underneath this nice tree and read. And I squeezed in a much needed nap.

Athens got hit with a pretty bad rainstorm that night. We lucked out and had just sat down at a restaurant when it started to pour. After our dinner, we chilled in Monastiraki until our ferry left at midnight to Santorini.

The ferry was a delightful time. Slight exaggeration. It was a long 8 hours spent sleeping on the floor. And watching Greek soap operas, awesome. We arrived in Santorini the next morning and were greeted by our lovely Ioannis, the tan Greek version of Santa Claus. He took us back to our hostel where we went into a slight sleep comma until later that day. We relaxed for the rest of the day at the beach.

It was a pretty good way to spend our first day.

I'll post part dos tomorrow!

Also, I picked up Natali at the airport today, she's for reals suffering from jet lag and is currently passed out upstairs. But we will keep you updated on her visit, plus we're headed off to Paris next week!
