Today's random thoughts

The best thing about being an English major is being able to have super deep awesome discussions about literature in class. I frikkin love it! This semester I'm taking a Women and Literature class, it's amazing. We just finished reading The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison (WOW!!) And we'll be discussing Sula this week. I'm so excited, it's embarrassing.

The best thing about being a Spanish minor is being able to finally understand my native language! I've spoken Spanish my whole life, yet I've never understood accents, and now after 18 years I get it!

The best thing about being a Secondary Education major is being able to take EDT 321.... oh wait, no that's the worst part about it. I HATE THAT CLASS!!

ugh anyways that's how my semester is going.
Go ASU... lol

Remember when Myspace was cool?

I remembered about Myspace today lol.

And I found some great pictures.
This was at Homecoming senior year. haha I had an incident with duct tape

This was at a football game. I guess I was really excited.

Can you tell how much he likes me? lol

This was one of the most memorable nights of my life. 4 girls off roading? Bad news!

This is the only evidence we have of snow trip 08 :(

We camped out while it was freezing for these tickets. Best experience ever!

Relay for Life was the bomb.

The Crew.

Dang high school was fun.

School, school and more school

Lately, my life consists of school, homework and working out. Isn't that just awesome? I've been hitting the books hard and I'm so on top of all my homework!! Today, I forced myself to study my Spanish book till I understood the accents. It was awesome.... This better pay of somehow in the future!

And I still need to decide where to live next year?! And which study abroad program to do?! I hate making decisions.

Today I feel

Numb. That's it.

Moving On

Lately I've realized I need to start over.
I've realized I do not need to deal with this crap.
I need to get away and really think about what's going on in my life and think about whether I'm completely satisfied with it.

I need to move on from this teenage drama crap and suck it up and grow up.

I don't need friends that don't care. I don't want friends that don't care.
I want to find new friends.

Later Gilbert, you're no good for me.

James Daniel

Because we can stay in on a Friday night and watch a movie in our Snuggies, i know it's the real deal
I love this boy with all my heart.
Especially when he remakes the Snuggie commercials in person.
And when he draws a Harry Potter scar on his forehead.
And when he starts looking for the duck.
ALso, when he convinces me to go do donuts in the parking lot by bribing me to take me to the dentist.
And when he quotes FML.com.

Ah I just love everything he does. :)

Dear ASU

I really missed you during break.

But after today, I am not happy with you.
I didn't have any milk for my mini wheats this morning.
I almost fell asleep in my Geology class.
Then in rained and I had to ride my bike back to my dorm.

Please be better to me for the rest of the week!!

Sincerely,
Maggie

Oh the places you'll go

You have brains in your head.
You have feet in your shoes.
You can steer yourself any direction you choose.
You’re on your own. And you know what you know. And YOU are the guy who’ll decide where to go.

I should actually name this "oh the places I hope to go" but that would just ruin it.
So, Spring semester starts in a week and although it's still kinda far away, I'm planning my study abroad trip.
The problem is, I can't decide where to go and when?! Ya, I know, that's definitely an issue.

First off, I need to decide what major I want to go for. Do I go for my English Lit, Secondary Ed or Spanish?!
 Well here are my options:

Go to London and study English Literature.
The pros: It's London! Plus I could study Shakespeare!
The cons: It's London! I would still be speaking English. English people have bad teeth (no offense)

Go to Leon, Spain and study Spanish Language and Literature.
The Pros: I get to see this sick castle! I get to speak Spanish.
The Cons: It's VERY expensive.

Go to San Jose, Costa Rica to study teaching and Spanish Language.
The pros: Look at that water! I would get to teach underprivileged kids. I would speak Spanish.
The cons: I can't think of any!

Go to Merida and Cancun, Mexico to study Spanish Language and Mayan Civilization.
The cons: LOOK AT THE FRIKIN PICTURE! Plus, I've been there so I'm familiar with the place. I would study the Mayan Civilization!! I would go to the beach like everyday! I would get super tan! It's the cheapest program!
The cons: I would run the risk of potentially being killed by drug cartels..... but no worries.

Go to Sevilla, Spain and study Spanish Language and Literature.
The pros: It's Spain! I would speak Spanish!
The cons: It's expensive :(

HELP ME!

In need of inspiration

I have 3 days left of my winter online class...
But before I get to take the final, I have to write a 6 page paper analyzing The Black Cat by Edgar Allan Poe.

I'm soooo not in the mood for this.
I have to be in the mood to write a good paper!
So I'm wishing for inspiration and procrastinating till I get it!

Complete Boredom

I am bored out of my mind lately. One because this is my 4th week of break, and two, my boyfriend is out of town lol.
So to keep myself entertained, I've started making anything that pops into my head.
These are my latest accomplishments!

The quality of the pictures kind of suck, sorry! I took them on my phone!

My Reward

Alright well I probably didn't make the best decisions today...
I went to Forever 21 and I gave in.
I bought this:

But you know what, I've been working my butt off in my online Winter class, so I deserve it!
I need a cute bag to carry my books in this Spring!
So there, I just justified my purchase.

Update

My goodness where to start...

First of all today(well I guess now its yesterday since it's 1am) was Diego's 4th birthday! It's crazy how fast time flies, I remember when he was born.

I love this kid. Makes me smile every time I see him.
Happy Birthday Diego!

Secondly, today, my friend Alec and my niece Natali and I went and saw a private viewing of The Lovely Bones. Sadly, I was disappointed. I should have known that it wouldn't be comparable to the book, but still, I was bummed. But I guess I gotta give Peter Jackson some props..

Thirdly, I just finished watching season 4 of Dexter. I don't even know what to say. I'm not gonna ruin the end(just in case you guys decide to see it) but the last episode left me with a huge WTF!?
Ah, Dexter...

Oh Yoko

Yoko, you're cool and all, but sometimes

I Really envy you

Look what I found

While in the process of organizing some paperwork today, I found my portable hard drive. So, I decided to look at my old stuff, just for kicks.
Check it out :)

Oh Evan, good times lol. This shoot was way fun and really scary at the same time. I remember walking into this place and clinging on to Evan for life haha. All in all, it was a fun day.

Awww Evit. This was in the good old days when I never wanted to leave that place. That was definitely one of the best years of my life. I miss these girls like crazy!

Haha this was in the bad days of Evit. When I never wanted to go. Basically, I was so pissed at my teacher for assigning me the stupidest project, that I took this picture and turned it in lol. Oh man, I was bad...

Again, these were taken when I dreaded Evit. Without Jeremy I would have died. I loved our totally random photo shoots we did everyday. We always took the coolest pictures of each other. I miss Jeremy :(

This was way back in the day, when I first started taking pictures. This was so epic though, couple years back it snowed in the Superstition Mountains here in Arizona. It was beautiful, so I begged my parents to take me to take some pictures. Haha, funny thing is we got so lost and the quick trip ended up taking several hours. Good times.

Hahaha, I love this. This was about 4 years ago. Me and my friend David went to Downtown Mesa to shoot some candids for a class project. It was a fun trip. We ended up getting chased by some guy because we took his picture. Then we somehow ended up at this horseshoe tournament lol.

I can't believe I'm posting this. This was back freshmen year, I think. We had to make a comic strip for our photo class. We took this way too serious... But I do have to say that our finished comic was bomb.

I love looking back at old pictures. Makes you miss some things and also reminds you of how weird you were. Love it.

Current Obsessions

Dexter

If my boyfriend saw me posting this he would do one of his infamous eye rolls that he loves giving me :)
But seriously, this show is awesome!
My psychology teacher recommended it, and I had to watch it.
For those of you that are not familiar: Dexter is a blood splatter analyst who works for the Miami Metro Police Department.
But on the side, Dexter is a serial killer.
I know, intense right?
This show is so twisted! You should definitely check it out!
I'm currently on the final episodes of season 4 :( sadly, once I'm done I'll have to wait for the next season to begin.

The Lovely Bones

I know I already talked about this, but I need to again.
This book is really good, plus my niece just scored us tickets for a private viewing of it on Thursday (for FREE!) So excited!!

Edgar Allan Poe

A classic. Sadly, I had not read any of his stuff until it was assigned in my online English class. His work is unbelievable! Talk about horror stories. I've read a couple of his stories, but so far i think The Black Cat is my favorite.

Just Dance

If you want a game to play with your whole family and almost pee your pants of laughter, this is your game. My friend Melanie introduced me to it. It is hours of entertainment, I promise. The game has over 30 awesome songs to choose from, then you will have a character show you the dance moves, and you dance along. There's no excuse for those of you that claim that you can't dance because they show you how! You get rated at the end of the song, so let the competition begin!

I think that covers my obsessions for the week.

1.05.2010

Oh. My. Gosh.

I love stumble upon.

Check out what I found

Mmmmm, its love

For those of you that know me, you know that I am overly obsessed with The Beatles.
But how can you not?!

Anyways, lately I've been craving their songs badly. Mainly because when Melanie was here from break we played Beatles Rockband a lot! That and I have nothing to do all day so I blast their tunes.

Regardless, I just wanted to show them some love.

Lets get crafty

Well since this is week 4 of my winter break and I still have 2 weeks to go, you can say I've been getting a little bored. Although my winter class keeps me busy at times, I need something else to rest my mind. So, I began searching for ideas online for crafts!
Collage I made today, thanks HGTV!

It didn't turn out quite how I wanted it. But it was my first one!

Here's the link if you want to make your own! Click here!

I also was inspired by my boyfriend's sister to make cute headpieces! We spent the night together making some cute ones!

These were some of the finished results. Some cute hair clips!

I'm looking for new ideas to easy my boredom!!

You find your truth somewhere

I came across this just now.

It's like they read my mind for the past few months.

I miss the past, but I guess it is time to start living in the present.

I hate when I find advice at 4:30 am on the internet.

For clarification

So recently I have had people questioning why I am an English major. I always get the "Are you serious", or "Why English? that sucks" remarks thrown at me. So for clarification, here it goes.

Literature is amazing. It is what keeps me sane at times. Why on Earth would I not choose to study something that completes me? Literature has gotten me through some of the hardest times of my life.

I have had English teachers in my school lifetime that have completely changed the way I view literature, the world, and even life. I have had English teachers that I have looked up to and respected so much. I am so excited to become part of that. I want to be the teacher that someone else will later talk about. I want to be the teacher that inspired a student to pick up a book and read because they love it. So thank you Mrs. Lillo, Mr. Boba, and Dr. Tait. You guys inspired me to view the world differently. You guys inspired me to pick up a book and have it change my life. Thank you.

I want to be an English teacher. That is who I want to be.

Good Weezy

Yeah, it was definitely 50% off day at Goodwill. Guess what that means?

New books baby.

Check out my latest buys:

It's a classic guys, plus I've heard nothing but good stuff about it.

Another classic, plus this book is bomb. Sick and twisted, just how I like it.

It's Shakespeare, enough said.

I just had to have this.

Great book, I had to own it.

It was a great book shopping day. I'm always on the lookout for new books to add to my collection!
